GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF INDUSTRY-INITIATED STUDIES
7TH BRAZILIAN WEEK OF INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE (SEBRADII 2026)

II – INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT PREPARATION
Scientific submissions may have multiple authors, with no limit on the number of contributors. However, at least one author must be registered for the 7th Brazilian Week of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (SEBRADII 2026), be a GEDIIB member, and be in good standing with the organization.
The Executive Secretariat of SEBRADII 2026 shall determine the membership and financial status of the author(s) with GEDIIB.
Works previously published as full articles in national or international journals are not eligible for submission to SEBRADII 2026.
Abstracts may be submitted in Portuguese or English.
All information must comply with the guidelines described below.
Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided. Abstracts containing incomplete information or failing to comply with these guidelines will not be approved by the Review Committee.
The five highest-ranked abstracts selected by the Review Committee will be presented as Free Paper Presentations in the Scientific Arena on a date to be announced.
Each presentation will have a duration of five minutes.
The remaining approved abstracts will be presented in poster format.
For the selection of the five best scientific works, the Committee will evaluate the following criteria:

The remaining approved works will be presented as posters.
Posters must be displayed in the designated area on August 20, 2026, and will remain on display throughout the event.
Poster presentations will not be subject to oral evaluation by the SEBRADII Scientific Committee.
Poster specifications:
- Printed poster
- Width: 0.80 m
- Height: 1.20 m
- Must include a hanging cord or equivalent support
Abstract Structure and Submission Requirements
During the submission process, abstracts must be organized in the following order:
- Title of the Study
- Authors
- Affiliated Institution(s)
- Abstract Body
All information must comply with the guidelines described below.
Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided. Abstracts containing incomplete information or failing to comply with these requirements will not be approved by the Review Committee.
Title
The title must contain no more than 250 characters, be concise, and accurately reflect the subject of the study.
Important: To preserve anonymity during the review process, the title and abstract body must not contain the name of any institution or the location where the study was conducted.
Authors
The order of authors is the sole responsibility of the authors themselves.
The first author must be the presenter of the work.
Abstract Body
- The abstract must be written as a single body of text and must not exceed 250 words.
- A maximum of three images (tables and/or figures) may be included.
- The abstract must be structured in the following order:
Introduction
Objective
Methods
Results
Conclusion
References
References must not be included in the electronic abstract submission.
Bibliographic references should be cited during the presentation of the work.
Results Reporting Requirements
Statements such as:
- “Results will be presented”
- “Data will be analyzed”
are not acceptable.
Results must be presented as clearly as possible, and conclusions must be supported by the data provided.
When complete analyses are not yet available, authors should present preliminary results.
Likewise, abstracts will not be accepted if the results of a single study are divided among multiple submissions.
Drug Nomenclature
Commercial or brand names are not permitted.
Only the generic (pharmacological) names of drugs may be used and must be written in lowercase letters.
Changes After Submission
Once the submission process has been completed, authors will not be permitted to modify the content of the submitted work.
Important Information
Please note that all materials generated from submitted abstracts, including proceedings, certificates, and other official documents, will reproduce exactly the information provided by the author at the time of submission.
Therefore, no changes to the title, abstract, or author names will be permitted after the submission deadline.
Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all submitted information.
Names submitted in incomplete form (for example, through abbreviations or omission of one or more surnames) will not be corrected and will appear exactly as submitted in the official program and digital certificate.
Final Decisions of the Review Committee
The final decision of the Review Committee shall be considered final, irrevocable, non-appealable, and shall not be subject to reconsideration.
Ethical Compliance
By submitting an abstract, the authors acknowledge and accept responsibility for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing research involving human participants and animals, including approval by the appropriate Human Research Ethics Committees and Animal Research Ethics Committees.
Right of Refusal
The Review Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts without providing justification for its decision.
Commitment to Present
Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present the work during the event if it is accepted.
Responsibility for Content and Expenses
The Organizing Committee and Scientific Committee shall not be responsible for the content of presentations, posters, or any materials presented during the event. Full responsibility for such content rests solely with the authors.
Likewise, the Organizing Committee and Scientific Committee shall not be responsible for transportation, accommodation, or any other expenses related to the presentation of accepted works.
