REGISTRATION, CANCELLATION, AND REFUND POLICY

Event: 7a Semana Brasileira das Doenças Inflamatórias intestinais
Date: August 19th to 22nd, 2026

1. Right of Withdrawal (Online Purchases)

In compliance with Brazilian Consumer Protection Law (Art. 49), the registrant may request the cancellation of the purchase and a full refund (100%) within 7 (seven) calendar days after the payment date, provided the request is made before the event start date.

2. Cancellation and Partial Refund Policy

After the legal withdrawal period (item 1), the following guidelines apply:

• Deadline: Cancellation requests will be accepted strictly until July 10, 2026 (40 days prior to the event).
• Retention: 50% of the amount paid will be retained to cover administrative, operational, and financial costs. The refund of the remaining balance will be processed upon receipt of the bank details of the original payer.
• Procedure: Requests must be sent exclusively in writing to sebradii@sebradii.com.br.
• After the Deadline: No refunds will be issued for requests sent after July 10, 2026, except in cases of force majeure (e.g., infectious disease, death in the family) duly proven and analyzed individually by the Organizing Committee.

3. Sponsored Registration, Duplicity, and Transfer

It is the sole responsibility of the delegate to check for third-party sponsorship (industry/laboratories) before making a personal payment.

• No refunds will be issued for paid registrations if the participant subsequently receives a courtesy or sponsorship for the same spot.
• Sponsored registrations must be made using the beneficiary participant’s data (ID/Name), not the sponsoring company’s data.

3.1. Transfer of Registration In case of duplicity (paid registration + subsequently received courtesy) or inability to attend, the paid registration may be transferred to another participant, strictly following these rules:

1. Deadline: The request must be made by July 30, 2026 
2. Category Equivalence: The new holder must belong to the exact same category as the original registration (e.g., Member Physician can only transfer to another Member Physician). If the category differs, the transfer will not be authorized.
3. Private Transaction: The financial settlement regarding the spot value is the exclusive responsibility of the parties involved (assignor and new registrant). The event organization is exempt from issuing refunds to the original holder or charging the new holder; the secretariat will only update the registration data in the system.

4. Proof of Category

Supporting documents uploaded to the system (student ID, residency proof, etc.) must be truthful and current.

• Verification: The organization reserves the right to request original physical documents at the event accreditation desk. Failure to provide valid proof will result in the charge of the difference to the “Non-Member/Full Price” category on-site as a condition for accessing the event.

5. Members in Good Standing (GEDIIB)

The registration system automatically checks the GEDIIB database upon registration.

• If the system does not recognize the participant as a member in good standing, they must contact GEDIIB directly (secretaria@gediib.org.br | +55 11 3031-0804) to settle annual dues before paying for the registration.
• There will be no refund of the price difference if the participant pays the annual dues after having already paid the non-member registration fee.

6. Financial Issues

• Expired Bank Slips (Boletos): Do not pay expired slips. A new slip must be generated via the “Congressman Area” (Área do Congressista), subject to the price tier effective on the new date.
• Receipt: The bank payment voucher itself is legally valid as a provisional receipt. If a detailed Official Receipt is needed, it can be generated directly in the Congressman Area after payment clearance.

7. Scientific Papers

Delegates may submit scientific papers in advance without immediate payment of the registration fee.

• Approval: If the paper is selected, the presenting author will have 7 (seven) calendar days after the result announcement to complete their registration.
• Value: The amount to be paid will correspond to the tier valid on the payment date, regardless of the submission date.

8. General Provisions

• Schedule Conflict: The system will automatically block registrations for activities (pre-congress courses, workshops) occurring simultaneously.
• Price Changes: Price tables are subject to change according to the tier deadlines published on the official website.

Support: Technical issues or difficulties in finalizing registration must be reported immediately to sebradii@sebradii.com.br. No exceptions will be made or previous tier values maintained for cases reported after the tier expiration or registration deadline.
